Emerging within the tropics in late 1990, the Mexico and Central America disco don and edit maestro Roman Truth breaks through in the international underground dance music scene building a solid worldwide reputation for his incredible edits and his highly-curated all night long proto balearic discofied DJ sets regarded as one of the hottest underground disco and house music DJ acts of the Americas and as the most achieved disco artist of Mexico and Central America. He’s the founder and A&R of the Nocturnal Hazard record label, the Latin America's finest discofied and balearic music record label with a solid roster of high-caliber artists including Eric Duncan, Romain FX, Budino, JKriv, Tom Noble, Jonny Rock, Woolfy, Jacques Renault, Eddie C, Beppe Loda, Neil Diablo, Nebraska, Elado, Devin Dare, Al Kent, Delfonic, The Patchouli Brothers, Ric Piccolo and many more. He's also considered the most achieved and well-travelled DJ and music artist of the local Costa Rican dance music scene with a large number of international gigs and music releases under his beld on esteemed disco and house music record labels from Europe and beyond.
In his solo music career, Roman has been signed by the top-notch Berliner imprint Toy Tonics and has released and forthcoming music on the labels Nocturnal Hazard, Magic Numbers, Editions Mystic Vision, Disco Mind Records and many more. More than a DJ, the 35 years old Costa Rica born visionary artist considers himself a "musical archaeologist" since his main objective for almost 20 years of his life has been to find and collect obsessively the rarest and most unknown tracks forgotten in time to play and edit them for modern dancefloors. As DJ, Roman Truth is a tireless music digger renowned for his unique taste, knowledge in music and his extended fearless DJ sets spanning a high quality eclectic musical voyage with a wide range of music styles from peak-time spaced-out hypnotic disco-rock, obscure disco music in all its variations, soul, balearic and AOR to more infectious dubby boogie, proto-house, italo, hi-nrg, EBM, new-wave, African disco, high life and more trans-continental and post-disco sounds all blended together creating his own signature sound on the dancefloor.
He played at venues and parties in the local Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica dance music scenes such as Sunday Sunday, Departamento Studio Bar, Casa Cobra, Crania Reclaim, Live Connection, Futuro Primitivo, Pardo Club, Mistereo, Soul In Beats, Salon Gallos, Ritmo Fantasia, Casa Segunda, Domingo Frenesi, Saturday Saturday, Club Vertigo, Antik, Club Azul Rosa, Amon Solar and more many more. He also played in United States at venues and important parties such as Housepitality, We Own The Night, Cafe Balearica, Mezcaleria La Milagrosa, Jupiter Disco, The Basement, Blonde and Howard’s just to mention a few. At the studio, Roman Truth has been produced the finest edits released in Latin America and some of the most interesting released over the last years in the world turning long-forgotten and obscure hidden gems into vintage-sampled contemporary discofied dancefloor weapons with his inimitable music production style. His infamous edit productions are played and supported by a large number of heavy hitting DJ’s around the world such as DJ Harvey, Danilo Plessow aka Motor City Drum Ensemble, Hunee, Jesse Saunders, Demuja, Bill Brewster, Idjut Boys, Rune Lindbaek, Daniel Wang, Horse Meat Disco, Daniel Monaco, Mark Grusane, Tim Sweeney, Todd Terje, Dam Swindle, Romain FX, Marvin & Guy, Red Greg, Nick The Record, Tigerbalm and many more well-respected artists.
For 2026 and further years, the Hispanic DJ and music producer will be focusing his music career outside Mexico and Costa Rica touring in Europe, South America, United States, Canada, Asia, Australia and beyond, he’s also planning to record his own debut album with his new studio band of musicians and other featured music artists, releasing more edits and remixes on his own record labels and also under other studio-only music projects in collaboration with artists like Alex Olson aka Balearic Skip under the studio-only edit duo Olson & Truth, with Hotaru under the new music project Roman & Hotaru and more artists. Roman Truth will be also releasing the forthcoming Editions Mystic Vision imprint, the new balearic-centric edit sub-label by Nocturnal Hazard focusing its forthcoming music catalog on mid-tempo stoner disco, adult oriented disco and more balearic-minded and psychedelic disco rock stuff with the signature underground discofied sound of the Nocturnal Hazard record label.
